Exclusive: Nigel Lythgoe Developing Family Singing Competition for that CW

Nigel Lythgoe The American Idol Show which means you Think You Are Able To Dance executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is within talks using the CW to setup a brand new singing competition in the youthful-skewing network. The show, which Nigel Lythgoe Prods. would produce, would concentrate on locating the next large family singing group. (One insider compared it to some search for the following generation Partridge Family.) Lythgoe can also be in talks with Dick Clark Prods., which is among the companies behind Which Means You Think You Are Able To Dance, in the future aboard like a production partner about the project. A singing show would follow-through about the CW leader Mark Pedowitz's means of putting more original fare about the air throughout every season - including more unscripted series. Earlier this year in the Television Experts Association press tour, Pedowitz told reporters he was wanting to put a singing competition about the air. He suggested at that time the CW is at talks having a major reality show producer - and Lythgoe would certainly fit that bill. "When it comes to reality, we are searching in a wide spectrum of things at this time,Inch Pedowitz stated at that time. "A vocal show is within discussions at this time. Whether we assemble it or otherwise, we'll see." Lythgoe's other credits include CMT's Next Celebrity and Fox's The quest for the following Great American Band.
